I want to make a short video using clips from other videos, like maybe from Youtube, but I don’t really know how to do it. I use Widows Moviemaker a lot, so I’m good with that, but if I wanted a clip of a girl running through the woods, for example, and I found one on youtube how would I isolate that individual part and use it in moviemaker?

this will help you…. Use ‘zillatube’. This is the easiest (and also the fastest) way.
Zillatube produces mpg/mp3 video or sound formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or windows media player), and more. Also for high quality conversion, use vcd mode to get good quality mpg file.
Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker(included in your windows machine) to create new masterpieces..
It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mpg videos with windows movie maker.

the easiest and simplest way that I have EVER used is REAL PLAYER. Someone told me about it on this site and I have fell in love with it. All you do is download Real player by searching it on google and every time your watching a video (from any site) a little button will appear saying “download” just click it and

you have that video and then from there it will ask you if you want to convert it and you can convert it to anything from
~itunes format
~windows movie maker format
~HQ
~etc.
Download is free fast and virus free
(I promise I tried so many things and this is the only thing that REALLY worked for me that didnt include viruses or “first you go to this website then to here and … blah blah” so yea)
And if you dont like it (i highly doubt it) just uninstall it
I have been using it for months now an it is THE BEST
Now about the isolating the individual part of your video clip, depending on your version of windows movie maker there should be a tab in the wmm toolbar saying “clip”
~Click on it~
and then you it gives you the options of “trim beggining” or “trim end”
(something along those lines)
And to use that just go to the part in your video that you want to cut out and either select those two options and it will cut off the unwanted parts of your clip
Im sorry if I wasn’t clear, I had trouble with the same thing to, just play around with it allittle
